Lab coats off - Cleaning gloves on: our first social day!

On Friday, February 27, our chair held its first Social Day as a team. Instead of spending the day in the office or lab, we rolled up our sleeves and volunteered locally.

Together with nine colleagues, we supported the Tierschutzverein Freising e.V. in Freising by thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the entire cat ward. Not just individual rooms, but the whole area from top to bottom.
It was eye-opening to see how much daily effort, structure, and care go into running an animal shelter. With the large number of cats being cared for, hygiene plays a crucial role in preventing the spread of disease and protecting the animals’ health.

For us, it was a valuable opportunity to work together outside our usual environment and contribute to an important local organization. A big thank you to the shelter team for welcoming us and for the important work you do every day.
