We are pleased to announce that our project “FieldFusion – A Unified AI Framework for Sustainable and Scalable Soybean Farming” is being funded as part of the BMFTR initiative “Bioeconomy International 2025 – Cooperation with São Paulo.” FieldFusion develops hybrid AI models that combine biophysical process knowledge with machine learning to improve yield forecasts and make agronomic decisions more precise. In addition, we are researching computer vision methods for real-time detection of fungal infestation, pests, and weeds in the field. The approaches are being tested in extensive field trials in Brazil and Germany and further developed in close cooperation with the University of São Paulo, farmers, and the TUM research station. We look forward to working with our partners and the impetus this project will provide for modern, sustainable agriculture.
