PhD and PostDoc Positions
We encourage and are willing to support PhD candidates and Postdocs to apply their own scholarships or fellowships, for instance the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarship Database has compiled the information on funding opportunities for foreign students, graduates and postdocs.
For graduate students:
TUM students
- TUM-GS Bridge Financing Grant: Three month funding for graduates immediately after earning their master’s degree.
- Bavaria Scholarships and Funding
International students
- German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
- Bavaria Scholarships and Funding for students entitled German residence.
- Bavaria State Scholarship BAYHOST for students from Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe
- Green Talents – International Forum for High Potentials in Sustainable Development: Research stay of up to 3 months for Non-German citizens or anyone not residing in Germany.
For postdocs:
- TUM University Foundation Fellowship (TUFF): One-year funding by TUM.
- German Research Foundation (DFG) Research Fellowships
- DFG - Walter Benjamin Programme
- Humboldt Research Fellowship all nationalities, and the Georg Forster Research Fellowship for researchers from developing countries.
- Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships
- Sino-German (CSC-DAAD) Postdoc Scholarship Program: The program allows Chinese young scientists to carry out 7-18 month research projects in Germany.
