We contributed to folate analysis in an interdisciplinary project on the nutritional and sensory analysis of chlorella powders. Of eight different commercially available chlorella powders, Chlorella vulgaris powder was particularly rich in folates. While the vitamin C, D, and E content in the tested chlorella powders was quite low, chlorella can be confirmed as a suitable source of folic acid in the human diet.
