On 18 November 2025, Sebastian Eichelsbacher presented the Chair of Digital Agriculture and its main areas of research at the PhD Get2Gether event organised by the Department of Life Science Engineering at the TUM School of Life Sciences.
In a pitch, he presented the main areas of research: crop modelling with mechanistic models, algorithm development in the field of machine learning, and vertical farming with indoor wheat.
In addition to a pitch, Sebastian presented his poster on the research strategy Limits of Production. The poster showed the results of ongoing test series for optimising key environmental factors such as light, temperature, humidity, CO₂ and hydroponics with nutrient solutions.
With over 40 posters, the event attracted strong participation and facilitated intensive exchange between scientists and doctoral students from across the department.
Interdisciplinary research and networking across disciplinary boundaries play a very important role at the Chair of Digital Agriculture. It was a very successful event that further strengthens cooperation on campus. We look forward to further joint topics in the future.
