Our three doctoral students, Frea Metha, Christina Peternell, and Katharina Brenner, participated in the third international conference of the Portuguese Association for Cellular Agriculture in Olhão, Portugal, from November 26 to 28, 2025.
In her poster presentation, Christina presented the RNA thermometer as an innovative form of molecular process control. In her presentation, Katharina introduced the currently missing key performance indicators (KPIs) in the field of cultured meat and discussed their importance for future process validation.
A particular highlight was Frea's presentation, in which she spoke about inducible differentiation as a tool for controlling bioprocesses. Her contribution was awarded the prize for the best presentation - congratulations!
Equally impressive was the presentation by Daan Luining, founder and CIO of Meatable, who provided inspiring insights into current developments in cellular agriculture.
Overall, it was an extremely successful conference that offered valuable insights into the progress of cellular agriculture and opened up numerous opportunities for exchange, networking, and discussion of current research.
