We are delighted to announce that the project “Rethinking Agriculture: Wheat in Vertical Farms” by our doctoral student Sebastian Eichelsbacher is one of the three winners of the prestigious “25th Anniversary Prize” awarded by the CLAAS Foundation. The project impressed in the “Visionary” category and will receive funding for three years. Senthold Asseng and Sebastian Eichelsbacher traveled to the award ceremony, which took place in a festive setting in Harsewinkel on November 25-26. With the funding, Sebastian Eichelsbacher and his team will be able to purchase important research equipment and tackle the next steps in their research strategy. We congratulate all the award winners and look forward to the impetus that such initiatives will give to modern, sustainable agriculture.
